About

Tammy and I moved to Arizona in June of 2011.  It was a tough decision since we were leaving the greatest friends anyone could have back in the Midwest but no snow and an excellent job opportunity for Tammy won out in the end.

Shipping The Pink Flamingo out was another tough decision but one that was quickly made when Hale Marine Transport called and had an empty load going back if it was ready in 3 days.  So in May of 2011 The Pink Flamingo was loaded in Fox Lake, Illinois and made the long trip to Phoenix, Arizona.  Luckily all in one piece.

Since Arizona Marina’s are not as work friendly (one hell of a long walk to bring any tools or materials) as Watts Marina was in Fox Lake I decided to finish the 4 year remodel first before going in the water.  Including a brain fart to put on a swim platform that lowers into the water similar to our friend Steve did with his back in Illinois.

Needless to say the summers are HOT and the storage yard was not open on Sundays so the work took almost a year to finish.  But the Flamingo is looking good and this blog is here to keep the stories of the Pink Flamingo going.

I keep thinking about it but never seam to get around to it when we are there. I guess I’ll have to talk Tammy into letting me stay over there for an entire week so I have enough time to finish some projects and take some pictures.
